Aims, contents and method of the course

The Masterarbeitskonversatorium can be attended ONLY by students whose proposal of their Master Thesis has been accepted by their supervisor.

The main aim of this class is to provide a forum in which the individual topics can be discussed with other students writing their master theses, and other professors in addition to individual talks with the supervisor.
Time slots for presentations are allocated via Moodle.
Each student has to give a presentation about their thesis of 20-30 minutes following the outline below:

1. Problem statement and methods

2. Theoretical background and hypotheses or research questions

3. Research method, empirical approach (if applicable)

The presentation slides must be handed in via Moodle one day before the presentation (at 12:00 noon)

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation of the current state of the Master Thesis (20-30 minutes)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance (at least 80%)
Presentation following the structure given above

Aims, contents and method of the course

Voraussetzung für den Besuch des MA-Konversatoriums ist die Vorlage eines Proposals, das vom Betreuer/in akzeptiert wurde.
Diese Lehrveranstaltung dient - zusätzlich zu Einzelbesprechungen - der Präsentation der Masterarbeiten und ihrer Diskussion mit anderen Studierenden, die ihre Masterarbeit schreiben (wollen). Die Terminvergabe erfolgt über Moodle.
Jeder Studierende, der eine Masterarbeit verfasst, hat ein Masterarbeitskonversatorium zu besuchen und einen Vortrag über das Thema der Arbeit zu halten (Vortragszeit: 20- 30 Minuten).
Struktur des Vortrages:
1. Problemstellung und Methode
2. Theoretische Grundlagen und Hypothesen bzw. Forschungsfragen
3. Forschungsmethode und Empirische Analyse (bei empirischen Arbeiten)
4. Ggf. Empirische Ergebnisse (falls diese schon vorliegen)
Die Power Point-Folien sind bis spätestens 1 TAG vor dem Vortrag (12.00) im Moodlekurs abzugeben.

Präsentation des aktuellen Stands der Masterarbeit (20-30 Minuten)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Mind. 80% Anwesenheit.
Eine Präsentation des Themas der Masterarbeit, welche die oben genannte Struktur erfüllt
