Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The purpose of the seminar is twofold. We review literature on Welfare Economics as the foundation for Public Policy Analysis. At the same time, students are expected to take an active approach on the choice of topics, literature research, and are expected to work on a written assignment to prepare them for their upcoming work on their Bachelor’s thesis. Their work will then be presented and discussed in class. Please note that it is not possible to write a Bachelor's thesis as part of this course.

Assessment and permitted materials

Grading is based on the content (40%) and formal design (20%) of the seminar paper, the clarity and content of the presentation (20%), as well as active class participation (20%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirements for a passing grade are the submission and presentation of a seminar paper, and regular seminar participation. A maximum of 30% absences is tolerated. Unexcused absence from the first unit results in deregistration.
