Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course serves as a case solution-oriented preparation for the "Grundzüge des Rechts" exam. By means of small cases and cross-thematic questions, students will gain a deeper understanding of the interrelationships relevant to private law. The focus of this course is the final preparation for the exam by working out case solution schemes and enabling students to ask topic-specific questions in order to ultimately eliminate ambiguities before taking the exam.
A previous acquisition of the theoretical material by attending the accompanying lecture and by independently learning the literature relevant to the exam remains indispensable and represents the necessary prerequisite for attending this course.
The course dates are arranged in blocks and are oriented to the lecture-exam dates. The blocks before the individual examination dates are identical in terms of content.
Attendance of this course is only recommended in the semester in which the student plans to take the exam.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment is based on two multiple-choice examinations (duration 45 minutes each) in German - the date can be freely chosen by the students. The exams take place online in open-book format. There are 45 questions to be answered per exam. For a positive evaluation at least 46 questions have to be answered correctly.
Attention: The examination mode does not correspond to that of the main examination "Grundzüge des Rechts"!

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course is evaluated as "successfully attended" (+) or "unsuccessfully attended" (-).
Note that the assessment can only be published within 4 weeks from the last unit.
