Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
In total, one can reach 100 points. The points are distributed in the following way:
1. Presentation (20 points): Up to 10 Points are awarded for the correctness of the solution, and up to 10 points are awarded for the quality of the presentation.
2. Marks (30 points): In total, students can reach up to 30 points by "marking" exercises (54 in total). The total amount of points is calculated as 30 * M / 54 where M is the total number of "marked" exercises.
3. Endterm (50 points): At the end of the course, there is a 90 minute endterm covering all topics of the course. It will consist of five exercises, each worth 10 points.
MARKS and PRESENTATIONS
Handing in your homework consists of two parts:
1. Marking the exercises.
2. Uploading your solutions.
Both of these are handled via Moodle. We accept .pdf files at most 20 MB in size.
1. Students who have marked an exercise will be randomly selected to present this exercise. During the presentation, your uploaded solutions will be projected onto the wall. Please make sure that they are readable.
2. If any exercise has been marked for any given session, the student has to attend this session. Otherwise, attendance is not necessary but recommended.
3. If a student can not properly present a marked exercise, all marks for the sheet are removed. If this happens a second time, all marks of the student are removed (the student still has to mark at least 27 exercises, but will not be awarded any points for marking exercises). If it happens a third time, the student gets an ‘X’ (Betrugsversuch).ENDTERM and RETAKE
The endterm takes place on May 17, from 13:15 to 14:45. It is a closed-book, written exam with five questions, each worth 10 points. During the endterm, only a non-programmable calculator is allowed. In particular, mobile phones, smartwatches, headphones, etc. are not allowed.
On May 29, from 15:00 to 16:30, there will be an optional retake of the endterm open to all students. The mode of the retake is identical to the mode of the first endterm.
ATTENTION: The retake will override ANY grade a student has obtained at the first endterm!

Aims, contents and method of the course
In this course, you should actively engage with the topics covered in the associated lecture "Statistics 1 (VO)" and solve corresponding problems.
You will be assigned one exercise sheet per week containing 9 exercises. This sheet must be solved until the next session. You can mark and upload exercises you have solved in Moodle and are awarded points accordingly. During the sessions, students will be randomly selected to present solutions to the exercises they have marked in front of the class. The goal of these presentations is twofold:
1. Check whether the students have understood the exercises they have marked.
2. Provide solutions to those students, who have not marked an exercise.
Hence, both the correctness of your solution, as well, as the quality of your presentation will be taken into account. Additionally, there will be a 90-minute endterm.
