Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students are supported in writing their respective bachelor thesis. Literature research, formal requirements and efficient writing are subjects of the course (especially the first unit). In case of non-participation in the first unit, the missing students will be deregistered from the bachelor seminar. The second unit introduces key strategic concepts and management principles in public and nonprofit management (PNPM). Students will focus on a selected area of public and non-profit management: education, environment, energy, health, disaster management, sports. Two bachelor thesis topics are assigned from each of these six PNPM areas, to be completed in groups of two students each (i.e., 12 groups). In the third unit, the 12 groups present their results of the literature research and critically present initial findings. The fourth unit is then the final presentation of the bachelor thesis group work. In the fifth unit, the printed written rough versions of the bachelor group papers are discussed in three workshops (of four groups each) and one general session (all 12 groups). The sixth session will be used to discuss the final refinement of the 12 printed written Bachelor group papers, which must be handed in no later than two weeks after that (absolute deadline: June 26, 2023 at 8 am at OMP 1).
