service email address: opim.bda@univie.ac.atThis course familiarizes participants with the discourse on social responsibilities of private corporations. Diverse schools of thought from moral philosophy are taught in the theory-driven part of the course. Theories and concepts from the social and economic sciences regarding (im)morality of action complement this knowledge framework. Participants hone analytical abilities by identifying and articulating ethical dilemmas that arise in practice in the international business environment with the help of instructive case-studies. The aim of the course is to improve awareness of ethical principles and empower participants to critically evaluate legitimate stakeholder interests and incorporate them into ethically sound decision-making.
