Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The purpose of this course is to pronounce the Chinese words and sentences with the correct tone, pause and stress.

Assessment and permitted materials

During the course, you will listen and imitate the pronunciation of the learning material related to the "new words" and "dialogues" in "Practical Chinese". You will put your knowledge that you learned in 1a into practice. Individual correction of the pronunciation will be done each time. Games for pronunciation will be integrated.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

You will recieve 6 times Pinyin dictations(words and sentences) during the semester and 3 of them will be scored (each time 10% of the total score). Your pronunciation will be evaluated during the course through in-class Q&A. Along with the attendance rate,50% of the total score will be based on these evaluations. 50% from the final test.
False tones, initials, finals, pauses and stresses will be regarded as mistakes and the score will be deducted.Fluency is very important.
As far as we know now, this course will be held online at least for March and April 2021. You will be informed before Easter if we will switch it back to on-site course.
In order to receive a positive grade, you are not allowed to be absent from the course more than three times. However, if you are sick, you may have an exception with the medical certificate from your doctor. Other special cases please contact the lecturer and get an extra agreement from her.
If you miss the first course without excuse, you will automatically be deregistered from the course. If you are unable to attend the first course, an apology must be sent in written form via email to the lecturer.
