Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course aims to pronounce Chinese words and sentences with the correct tone, pause, and stress.
In comparison with last semester, you should be able to pronounce the sentences correctly and fluently.
To explain the correct pronunciation, the teacher will use Chinese to tell you the difference. It will, at the same time, practice your hearing ability in Chinese.
The course will be held on-site.

Assessment and permitted materials

There will be no mid-term exam. Instead, you will recieve an exercise.
Your attendance rate, dictations, your active in-class exercise and the final test will be evaluated and be your final score.
Games for pronunciation will be integrated.
Individual pronunciation correction will be done every time.
Concrete feedback for your pronunciation will be given every week based on your homework.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attendance rate+homework: 10% of your final score.
Dictations: 30% of your final score.
In-class activity: 20% of your final score.
Final test: 40% of your final score.

False tones, initials, finals, pauses, and stresses will be regarded as mistakes, and the score will be deducted. Fluency is essential.
