Active participation in class activities can contribute up to 5 points to the final score.Home Assignments: 4 best out of 5 assignments, 20 points in total
There are 5 home assignments altogether; 4 best are counted in the final score. Each assignment consists of 5 problems with equal weights, i.e. each problem in each assignment is worth of 1 point in the final score. Students can work in groups of 4 (or smaller). Identical solutions submitted by different groups receive no points.Midterm Exam (November 5, 11:00-13:00, HS2): 30 points in total
The midterm exam covers Chapters 2-6 and 9. No retakes are possible. An alternative date should be requested no later than 2 weeks before the exam.Final Exam (December 4, 9:30-11:30, HS2): 45 points in total
The final exam covers the entire course. An alternative date should be requested no later than 2 weeks before the exam.The highest possible final score is 100 points.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This is an introductory course in microeconomics. It covers the fundamental theories of the consumer, the firm, and the market. This course serves three main purposes: (1) to introduce students to basic microeconomic principles, (2) to equip students with technical tools used in most economic modeling, (3) to develop students skills in critical thinking and comprehension.
