Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is concerned with the organization of the multinational firm. The student is expected to develop skills in evaluating alternative organizational forms for multinational firms, in the use of strategic alliances, joint ventures, merger & acquisitions, greenfield investments, franchising and clusters and in identifying appropriate corporate governance forms under a multicultural environment. The course is structured in four major parts: (a) Evolution and existence of the multinational corporation (MNC), (b) internal organization of the MNC, (c) external or network organization of MNC, and (d) corporate governance issues of MNC.
The goal of this course is to familiarize students with a broad range of theoretical and practical perspectives on the organization of the multinational firm as global network.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students have to register for the exam (independently from course registration) via univis. You will find the exam in the cluster "WiWi-Prüfungen".
