Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The primary aim of the Bachelor seminar is to prepare students to writing research texts in preparation for their Bachelor theses. The course begins with choosing a topic for the potential seminar paper and ends up with submitting the same. The course is divided in three important segments as follows.(I) Choosing a TopicDeadline for submission of topics/abstracts for the Bachelor paper: 17.10.2022 (midnight)Feedback sessions, for the abstracts: 19&20.10.2022Deadline for the submission of synopsis/extended proposals along with list of the literature: 05.11.2022 (midnight)Both submissions are to be made electronically, through Moodle. The relevant links for submissions would pop up on the course page in Moodle in due course of time.(II) Presentation of the Final ProposalsThe proposals of the bachelor papers must be presented during the regular course meetings. The presentation must cover (a) a description of the problem and the specific research questions, (b) a summary and the highlights of the review of relevant literature, and (c) an outline of the research methodology.Final proposals are to be presented in the duration: 21-25.11.2022The PowerPoint slides must be sent to the lecturer at least 2 days before the presentation.(III) Bachelor ThesisIn their bachelor thesis, the participants should demonstrate a profound knowledge of the chosen topic. Based on a thorough literature review, students not only summarise their findings, but also develop an own perspective on the chosen topic.Deadline for the submission of the Bachelor papers: 30.01.2023 (midnight).The Bachelor paper is to be submitted electronically, though Moodle. The relevant links for submissions would pop up on the course page in Moodle in due course of time.The deadline for submission of Bachelor papers is final and cannot be negotiated.NOTE: IT IS POSSIBLE TO WRITE A BACHELOR PAPER ONLY IN ENGLISH IN THIS GROUP.
Assessment and permitted materials
Participants will be assessed on the basis of the presentation of research proposal, bachelor thesis, and in-class participation.The proposal for the bachelor thesis has to be presented in class. The presentation has to cover (a) a description of the problem and the specific research questions, (b) a summary and the highlights of the review of relevant literature, and (c) an outline of the research methodology.In their bachelor thesis, the participants should demonstrate a profound knowledge of the chosen topic. Based on a thorough literature review, students not only summarise their findings, but also develop an own perspective on the chosen topic.The course is designed to be interactive. Therefore, class participation would be valued.

Assessment break-down:• 70 % Bachelor Paper
• 20 % Presentation
• 10 % in-class participationMinimum Requirements: For a successful completion of the course, the following conditions must adequately have to be met;
1. At least 75% attendance in all sessions

Reading list
The primary resource (or learning material) would be articles published in top tier journals discussing key aspects of the various phenomena enumerated in the above sections. Students are required to make a literature search and review for their respective term papers. David and Han (2004) methodology for searching relevant literature using academic databases could help the students in finding the most relevant and appropriate literature for their respective term papers.
