Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The written course examinations "Grundzüge des Rechts" are held in presence in German with open questions (90 minutes); only uncommented editions of the law may be used for the examinations.
Permissible are: Underlining; highlighting etc and pure paragraph references."Post-its" are generally allowed, but must be unlabeled!!Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, short-term changes in the examination modus (switch to online exams) may be possible. The duration of the online exam is 60 minutes in that case.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A total of 60 points can be achieved in the exam; To pass the exam, 31 points or more are needed.
From 31 points - 4; from 39 points - 3; from 47 points - 2; from 55 points - 1.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, short-term changes in examinations (switch to online examinations) may be possible. Please note that according to § 13f Abs 2 Z 1 Satzungsteil Studienrecht Universität Wien Turnitin is used to detect plagiarism. Personal information should not to be included in the examinations answer text.Further informations about unallowed methods can be found at https://privatrecht.univie.ac.at/service-news/schummeln/In particular, the use of a law text with notes and comments or labeled post-its is considered unauthorized in presence exams.There is also the possibility of earning three bonus points. These can only be awarded in the case of a positive assessment. A negative mark can NOT become positive through them. Even without these bonus points, the full score can be achieved.
The bonus points can be earned by correctly answering 200 questions in the learning app "MooDuell" in the period between two examination dates. The bonus points must be claimed from the responsible person at the institute via e-mail. Please refer to the relevant course section on Moodle for the latest information and instructions on how to start using the app.
