Assessment and permitted materials

Two exams (midterm and final exam).

Conditional on legal and regulatory possibilities and the consent of the head of the faculty study programs, we strive to have examinations on-site. Students should therefore be advised to be available for such examinations. In case that this is possible, students who belong to one of the following groups,

Members of groups at increased risk according to legislation (acc. to the definition by the Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection)
Students who work in healthcare and nursing
Students who live with persons belonging to risk groups or persons who work in healthcare of nursing in the same household
Students who care for persons belonging to risk group
Students who face restrictions on freedom of travel (regionally/nationally) or are self-isolating (quarantine) on the date of the exam/completion of the partial achievement
Students having care obligations who are indispensable due to the closure of schools or kindergartens, etc.,

should contact the group’s office ahead of time to arrange a different exam type. When contacting the office, they may be asked to provide proof/evidence.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Classroom participation is immanently relevant for examination ("dieser Kurs ist eine Lehrveranstaltung mit immanentem Prüfungscharakter"). To pass the course,
students must collect at least half of the total points of the combined two exams,
the midterm and the final exam.
Make-up exams are only available for students on sick leave (documented by immediately handing in a doctor's sickness note at the chair's office) or leaves supported by formal decision of the university, the faculty, and/or the institute. No passing grade may be granted if the student misses more than 10% of the total
class time.

Examination topics

To study for the exams it is necessary that students prepare all readings
and home-works provided during the lecture.
