Aims, contents and method of the course

Aim: Foundations in Statistics and Probability theory.
Content:
1) Combinatorics
2) Set-theory and probability measures
3) Conditional probabilities
4) Discrete random variables
5) Continuous random variables
6) Multivariate distributions
7) Central limit theorems
Method: Presentation/Stream. Moodle will be used to present the material. If possible, on site teaching will be done.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam: Multiple choice.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Written multiple choice exam. A minimum of 50% are required to pass.
There are four possible oppertunities to take the exam: Beginning of January, end of January, end of April, end of June.

Examination topics

The material will be explained in class and accompanied by exersises.
There are also tutorials (on a voluntary basis), which are highly recommended.
