Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The VK 'Organization and Human Resources' deepens the contents of the accordant EK, which is also the prerequisite for attending the course. We apply organizational theories on case studies. These case studies deal with different alternatives in coordinating economic ac-tivities (hierarchy, network, and market). Special focus is put on the organizational structure and organizational processes. Additionally, we discuss the main topics in human resource management. In any possible organizational structure, the effective use of human resources is critical to the success of the organization. The VK focuses on the areas of recruiting and hu-man resource development.
Assessment and permitted materials
Examination topics
In the first part of the course consists of a recapitulation of the relevant contents of the EK as well as a critical review and discussion of current topics and trends in human resource man-agement. However, the course places emphasis on student participation. Working on case studies and sample calculations, students practically apply and detail the basic theoretical con-tents. Students work on their own as well as in teams.
