Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar focuses on comparative analysis of labor relations on the enterprise level as embedded in the broader models of Varieties of Capitalism. It compares the structure of institutions that frame relationships between government, employers and labor unions in various European countries as well as the role played by the legislation of the European Union.

Assessment and permitted materials

Ongoing participation in the course events, joint presentation and concluding essay.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Advanced knowledge of theory and empirical research in comparative industrial relations in Europe.

Examination topics

Introductory lectures, group cooperation, and joint discussion of student presentations. All aspects of the course will be done in English.
