Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is that students practically apply the material learned in the lecture and gain confidence in solving corresponding problems. The course is planned to take place in the lecture room if possible.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students can earn up to 100 points. These points can be earned in four distinct aspects of the course.

There are two tests where a total of 80 points can be earned.

A mid term test will take place on Monday, 21. November, 13:30 - 14:15 in the lecture hall 4. Here, up to 40 points can be earned.

An end term test will take place on Monday, the 30. January, 13:30 - 14:15 in the lecture hall 4, again. Here, up to 40 points can be earned.

Students can earn up to 20 points for participation in the course.

Students work on posed problems and indicate the problems they have solved on Moodle. If a problem is marked as having been solved, the student thus agrees to present the solution on the blackboard. Students are being chosen to present solutions to problems during the exercise sessions. If the presentation shows that a problem was indicated as being solved without an adequate solution, the mark for the problem under consideration as well as five other marks are deleted.

No examples may be marked as solved if the student is absent, otherwise all the examples of the exercise will be removed.

The marks provide 10*(percentage of solved problems) points

For the presentation of the solved problems, up to 10 points can be earned.

The total points are the sum of the points earned in the four aspects of the course.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To get a passing grade, at least 50% of problems have to be solved and at least 50 points have to be obtained.
Students are not allowed to be absent more than twice without a reason.

If all prerequisites are met, the grade will be calculated as follows (where X denotes the total number of points achieved):
50 <= X < 63 grade 4
63 <= X < 76 grade 3
76 <= X < 88 grade 2
88 <= X grade 1
