Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course gives a broad introduction into theories of organization. It covers both economic and behavioral views of organization. A particular emphasis is placed on the information processing view of information and the interactions between organization structures and the environment. The role of concepts of bounded rationality for the design of organizations, and the role of knowledge and organizational learning are also discussed.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

After attending this course, students should be able to analyze organizational problems from different perspectives. hey should have gained a thorough understanding o organization design variables and their interrelationships, and be able to provide recommendations for solving organizational problems based on a solid theoretical foundation.
