Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course given an overview of analytical, decision-oriented models of organizations with a particular focus on the role which asymmetric information has in shaping organizations. It covers the three main design elements of organizations: information, coordination and motivation.
Assessment and permitted materials
This is a continuous evaluation course. The grade is based on the following components:
Home assignments (one paper and two small exercises): 25%
Classroom exercises and experiments: 15%
Short quiz (at a random date during the course): 15%
Final exam (at the end of semester): 45%

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students should get a thorough understanding of an economic and decision-oriented perspective of organization. The main intention of the course is to provide insights into important relationships between central elements of organization. Analytical models are used as a tool to generate such insights, which then lead to a better understanding of real organizations.
Examination topics
The course uses blended learning, teaching material is provided via the e-learning platform. Lectures, exercises and experiments in class are used to deliver content and enhance students' understanding of the topics discussed.
