Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture treats a number of important questions in application of statistics. In particular the following topics will be discussed: Basic Concepts of Statistics, Data Collection, Statistical Techniques used in Applied Statistics, Interpretation of Results, Modelling Strategies, Model Validation
Assessment and permitted materials
Attendance of lectures, Solving practical exercises, final test
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Students get familiar with a number of statistical methods and learn about critical points in the application of statistical methods.
Examination topics
The theoretical part of the course gives an introduction into the different topics. In the practical part students solve examples with R and SPSS.
