Aims, contents and method of the course

* Introduction to design, implementation and analysis of statistical studies in medicine, natural sciences and social sciences
* Discussion of scientific studies and publications

Assessment and permitted materials

* short presentation of a biostatistical study (30 %)
* written comments and questions to presentation of other participants (35 %)
* written report on study including statistical analysis (35 %)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

minimum requirements:
* attendance (lectures may be missed two times without official excuse)
* short presentation
* positive evaluation of written report (>50 %)
assessment:
> 87.5 %: sehr gut (1)
> 75 %: gut (2)
> 62,5 %: befriedigend (3)
> 50 %: genügend (4)
bis 50 %: nicht genügend (5)
