Aims, contents and method of the course

Anhand einfacher Beispiele soll gezeigt werden, wie formale Modelle zum Verständnis ökonomischer Fragen beitragen.
Vorkenntnisse: Schulkenntnisse, "Mathematik 1" und "Mathematik 2" (evtl. paralleler Besuch). Einige nützliche Bücher: A. Chiang, "Fundamental Methods of Mathematical Economics", K. Sydsaeter and P. Hammond: "Essential Mathematics for Economic Analysis", K. Sydsaeter, P. Hammond, A. Seierstad and A. Strom: "Further Mathematics for Economic Analysis".

Assessment and permitted materials

Prüfung: schriftliche Hausarbeiten, mündliche Abschlußprüfung am 18.6.2009. Für eine positive Note müssen alle Hausarbeiten zeitgerecht abgegeben werden, als deutlich verschiedene Einzelarbeiten (nicht Gruppenarbeiten). Folgenlose Abmeldung ist bis Ende März möglich. Wer sich nicht rechtzeitig abmeldet und keine Leistung erbringt, wird negativ beurteilt. Das Anfertigen der Hausarbeiten wird erleichtert durch einige nützliche Computerprogramme.
