Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course provides a historical framework for understanding global business since the 19th century. It shows how entrepreneurs build a global economy during the 19th century, how the global economy disintigrated during the interwar period, and how it has been rebuild since then. We consider natural resource, manufacturing, and sercive firms. The impact of internal organization and the impact of public policy on multnational firms is considered.

Assessment and permitted materials

A written examination (60 minutes) at the end of the term accounts for 50% of the final mark.
The oral presentation, including handout and power point presentation, accounts for the remaining 50% of the final mark.
