Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture provides an overview on formal methods for decision support. Basic methods and techniques from mathematical optimization will be discussed in detail:
- linear programming
- integer linear programming
- non-linear optimization

Assessment and permitted materials

- written tests (midterm, endterm)
- optional project
- optional exercises prepared at home and presented by students in class

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- attendance is only required in the first lecture
- points are collected in tests (40+40), for the project (20), and the presentation of exercises (10)
- the grade is determined by the total number of points:
89 - : 1
76 - 88: 2
63 - 75: 3
50 - 62: 4
0 - 49: 5
