Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture provides an overview on formal methods for decision support. The main emphasis is on modeling issues as: determinstic continuous optimization, integer optimization, stochastic optimization, multicriteria optimization, ambiguity. We also present as special topics: portfolio optimization, data-envelopment-analysis and general branch-and-bound methods.

This lecture provides an overview on formal methods for decision support. The main emphasis is on modeling issues as: determinstic continuous optimization, integer optimization, stochastic optimization, multicriteria optimization, ambiguity. We also present as special topics: portfolio optimization, data-envelopment-analysis, shortest paths, maximal flows and general branch-and-bound methods.
