Assessment and permitted materials
To pass the seminar you need a minimum of 21 out of a total of 40 points:
- 19 points: paper presentation on one of the presentation topics from the list given below (teams of max. 3 students)
o Presentations should take 15-20 minutes, and should give a critical view on the topic to stimulate the subsequent discussion.
o In addition to the 2-3 given background papers students should include at least three other sources of information (journal article, commentary) –listed on the last slide of the presentation – to provide a round-up of the topic. The presentation should provide a clear story line and should be linked to the content of the lecture.
o Hand in one printout of the slides!
o Topics are distributed on a first-come - first-serve basis: After the end of the introductory session you can submit a list of your top-3 choices of topics to maria.silgoner@oenb.at.
- 11 points: active participation in group works
- 10 points: active participation (i.e. verbal interventions) in discussions
Final exam: Wednesday, November 14, 2018, 18.30 - 20.00 h, HS 9

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The university course (UK, lecture with exam) and the seminar (SE) are designed as
a package, so that on each course day the content of the lecture is rounded up by
corresponding group works and presentations. I therefore recommend taking both
courses. It is, however, also possible to register just for either the UK or the SE.
