Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

* Linear Programming
* Advanced Modelling Techniques
* special focus on problems related to Transportation Logistics
* solution techniques (Branch and Bound, etc)

Assessment and permitted materials

In order to pass the course you¿ll need to complete the following three tasks:
40% case study (group work, 2 students each)
30% presentation on solution techniques (group work, 2 students each)
30% final exam (individually, closed-book)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to advanced modeling techniques. A special focus will be given to problems related to transporation logistics. In this course we will cover linear programming and prototype applications.
Students are expected to already know how to deal with Xpress-MP.

Examination topics

Students are expected to implement mathematical programming models using XpressMP and get an understanding about how mathematical solvers work.
