Aims, contents and method of the course

This VU aims at discussing several interoperability concepts:
* XML and databases
* information integration
* web services
* service orchestrations
* service choreographies
* ontologies

Assessment and permitted materials

* literature study and theoretical exercises
* practical exercises (implementation, application of tools)
* written exam
* active participation in discussions

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

* understanding the basic challenges of interoperability
* understanding basic concepts
* getting hands-on practice by implementation and by applicaiton of selected systems

Grading:
* 45% exercises (theoretical and practical)
* 45% written exam
* 10% discussion
