Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Part 1: Analysis of statistical date and modeling of numerically accessible phenomena with different methods. Part of the class uses spreadsheet programs to illustrate the didactical power of this tool. Another part of the class will investigate data from the PISA study and present the results is different formats.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students produce analyses as small scale research papers. These papers are the basis for grading the reaults.

For each project a project report has to be turned in for each of the two parts of the class,

Examination topics

Not exam in the classical sense, grading is based on the papers turned in.

Literature and tools will be available in the electronic workspace of the class.
