Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Individual or team-based realization of practical topics in the areas of: enterprise modeling, semantic information systems. In particular we will use APIs of the platforms ADOxx, Protégé, R and others.

Students elaborate individually new technologies based on their existing knowledge and apply them on their own to new problems. This is accomplished in 3 phases: A. Elaboration of new technologies, B. Design of a concept of the solution, C. Technical Implementation of the Solution. As outcome of each phase students give oral presentations for describing the current status of the solution and answer questions of the course instructors. The final submission has to consist of an executable prototype incl. a documentation of the source code, a documentation and a final presentation slide set.

Assessment and permitted materials

3 Submissions:
1. Presentation on the newly elaborated technologies (10%)
2. Presentation of the solution concept (20%)
3. Final presentation of the solution incl. the prototype, prototypical executable implementation incl. documented source code, documentation (70%)

The submissions have to be made electronically via the elearning platform. The presentations have to be given orally within the course at fixed dates.

Attendance is mandatory.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Individual design and realization of implementation-oriented topics in the areas of enterprise modeling and semantic information systems; Extension of skills in using ADOxx, Protégé, R and other technical platforms.

For a positive evaluation of the course more than 50% have to be reached at minimum. The grading scale is defined as follows: >50% - 62,5%: Genügend; >62,5% - 75%: Befriedigend; >75% - 87,5%: Gut; >87,5%: Sehr Gut

Examination topics

The exam contents depend on the particularly chosen topic and will be individually announced to each student.
