Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Basic overview on differential equations and their numerical solution; Runge-Kutte methods, multi-step methods, stability and implicit methods, step length selection; finite differences and finite elements for the solution of partial differential equations

Assessment and permitted materials

At the end of the lecture, there will be an oral exam. The final grade is a combination of the result of the exam, the number and quality of the presented exercises, the active participation in class.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course provides basic knowledge about differential equations and numerical solution methods

Examination topics

Most of the course will be held as a typical lecture. In addition, there will be some meetings, where exercises are presented by the students.
