Aims, contents and method of the course

If you have any questions, please first use the forum in the teaching platform and second you can use: ist [AT] swa.univie.ac.at.The topics of the lecture are foundational IS technologies for distributed system design and development with sockets, remote objects, services, REST, components, SOAs, as well as persistence technologies with JDBC, OR mapping, and object databases.
Assessment and permitted materials
Written exam with the following grading scheme:>= 87,50%: 1 (sehr gut);
>= 75,00%: 2 (gut);
>= 62,50%: 3 (befriedigend);
>= 50,00 %: 4 (ausreichend);
< 50,00%: 5 (nicht bestanden).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This lecture is about typical technologies used as a foundation for many systems in enterprises today, especially technologies for distributed systems and persistence.
Examination topics
The lecture presents and discusses knowledge on IS technologies. This knowledge will be used in the practical tasks.
