Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students shall work on a project with a programming part and a didactic part (which must not deal necessarily with a topic from information technology). The selection of the topic is left to the students, but needs the accordance of the lectors. For instance: simulation of the n-body problem from physics or a learning program for boolean algebra (but no pure e-learning units like Wikis or Moodle-modules). The bachelor thesis should describe the theoretic basics of the chosen topic (e.g., explanation of the n-body problem due to physical aspects or of the basics of boolean algebra) on the one hand side, on the other hand side a design and implementation of the project should be provided. There is no teamwork possible. Details for the presentation of the bachelor thesis will be given in the first meeting.
Required Qualifications: Basics of programming techniques (the graduation of Algorithms, Data Structures and Programming 1+2 is recommended, also the graduation of didactic courses).

Assessment and permitted materials

short overview on the chosen topic (approx. 1 A4-page), practical implementation, bachelor thesis (approx. 20-15 pages), presentation of the work

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

preparation of a didactic meaningful project work

Examination topics

arrangement of a topic with the supervisors, autonomous preparation of the practical part of the project (programming exercise) and the theoretical part of the project (written document)
