Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Basics of software tools in scientific computing will be discussed. The students will get familiar with using numerical libraries for sequential and parallel applications (BLAS, LAPACK, PLASMA, ...), as well as particular methods and algorithms. Moreover, tools like Make, Gnuplot, and tools for testing and debugging will be used.

Assessment and permitted materials

The grading will be based on the following components: (a) homework and reports, (b) projects, and (c) an exam.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

At least half of the points have to be achieved.
