* Introduction and familiarization of concepts of workflow systems and technologies
* Application and development of workflow systemsThe content of the course consists of:
• Basic concepts of WfMS and PAIS
• Process orchestrations
• Properties of business processes
• Development of workflow-driven applications
• Workflow execution and web servicesStudents, attending the course, are expected to have knowledge in the following topics:
* Business process modeling foundations
* Advanced knowledge in the business process modeling notation (BPMN)
* Basic knowledge of XML, JSON
* Basic knowledge of service-oriented architectures (SOA)
* Advanced knowledge on REST and implementation of REST web services is highly recommended
* Advanced knowledge in at least one programming language of your choice (e.g. Javascript, Ruby, Python, ...) recommended
(Demonstrations for the exercises will be mostly in PHP and Javascript)
