Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar teaches theoretical foundations and offers practical experiences by combining
(1) ideation and design thinking
(2) music computing
(3) network and protocol design
all from both, a human- and technology-centred perspective.

The seminar is structured in lectures, individual and group assignments with presentations and an overarching seminar project including design and programming tasks.

This seminar further continues on the course Cooperative Systems (VU).

Assessment and permitted materials

(1) Attendance and active participation during the sessions and
(2) submission of practical work as
- design concepts
- software-based music instrument
- musical interfaces and interaction techniques
- network-based interaction implementation
- final artefact and report

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presence during all lectures is obligatory. You can miss two classes at most for a positive grade. Passing grade: more than 50% on each assignment.
