Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Meta modelling concepts comprise not only the selection of appropriate methods but also the syntactic and semantic specification of modelling techniques. Moreover, these techniques need to be accompanied by a proper notation as well as mechanisms and algorithms that enable the processing of created models. Lastly, the actual way of applying a certain modelling technique by means of a modelling procedure needs to be specified. The "Vorbesprechung" is in Seminarraum 8
Assessment and permitted materials
For a successful grade in Meta modelling, students are required to score at least 50 out of 100 points. Points are awarded as follows:* 30 Points for the written exam on theoretical foundations of meta modelling* 30 Points for the written exam on advanced aspects of meta modelling* 30 Points for the group project on modelling tool implementation* 10 Points for the presentation of the modelling tool implementation projectBesides the group implementation project, all texts and exams are individually performed by the students. In the group implementation project, students will be graded individually. The submissions have to be made electronically via the elearning platform. The presentations have to be given orally within the course at fixed dates.Attendance is mandatory.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
For a positive evaluation of the course more than 50% have to be reached at minimum. The grading scale is defined as follows: >50% - 62,5%: Genügend; >62,5% - 75%: Befriedigend; >75% - 87,5%: Gut; >87,5%: Sehr Gut
Examination topics
This lecture is held in a mixed mode, combining theoretical lectures on several aspects of meta modelling with practical applications of the theory by means of realizing a modelling tool with a meta modelling platform.
Reading list
PowerPoint-slides together with further literature and tutorials on selected technical aspects of meta modelling and tool development. Besides the ‘Skriptum’, students will be given references to further literature.
