Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Students will get acquaintance with theory and practice of screenwriting and narration in film. They will write their own screenplay during the course. This process - from the very first idea to a shooting script for a short film - will be discussed permanently. That way students learn to professionally talk about script development and learn the criteria for creative decisions. This practical approach will be accompanied by lectures in narrative theory, dramaturgy and the history of screenwriting.

Lecture, practical work, discussion, one-on-one instruction, guest lecturers, role playing
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Knowledge about theory and practice of screenwriting. Creating own experience in writing a script. Learn the terminology and criteria for creative decisions.
Examination topics
Recherche Drehbuch und Filmausschnitt einer Filmszene; Verfassen einer Personenbeobachtung (Figurenanalyse); Verfassen einer Logline; Verfassen eines Minitreatments und Szenenumbruchs; Verfassen eines Dialoges für eine Szene. Die Abschlussarbeit ist das Verfassen und Präsentieren eines Drehbuches zu einem vorgegebenen Themenbereich (50% Anteil an der Gesamtbewertung).
