Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students are able to explain typical questions and methods of sequence and structure analysis and can design experiments using these methods.
The students are able to compare sequence and structural data with biological databases.
The students understand basic methods and algorithms of sequence based predictions and predictions of molecular structures. The students are able to apply these to solve typical problems in biology and medicine and can interpret the results.

Assessment and permitted materials

Solution of homework exercises.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Successful submissions of problem solutions in structural bioinformatics, sequence and genome analysis and RNA bioinformatics.

Examination topics

Structural bioinformatics
Sequence and genome analysis
RNA bioinformatics
