Aims, contents and method of the course

The influence of their jewish background of the following painters on their work will be discussed and analysed.
Israel Josef, Pissarro Camille, Blau Tina, Liebermann Max, Kaufmann Isidor, Gottlieb Maurycy, Ury Lesser, Koller-Pinell Broncia, Lilien Ephraim, Modigliani Amedeo, Chagall Marc, El Lissitzky, Soutine Chaim, Ardon Mordecai, Ben Shahn, Rothko Mark, Nussbaum Felix, Adler Jankel, u.a.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The students should get interested and enjoy paintings in general and understand the different jewish backgrounds of the artists.
