Aims, contents and method of the course

This two term lecture class Diese zweisemestrige Vorlesung will introduce you into the history of ancient Judaism from its beginnings in the bronze age until the destruction of the the Second Jewish War. In this time, Judaism developed religious and cultural concepts which are influential as of today such a monotheism or the idea of a constitutional monarchy. The first term of this course will address the time from the beginnings of Judaism until the Persian province of Yehud.
