Aims, contents and method of the course

In diesem Seminar lernen Studierende eine Gattung der rabbinischen Literatur kennen: den so genannten Homilien-Midrasch. Wir befassen uns mit zwei Corpora, in denen Leseabschnitte aus der spätantiken Synagogenliturgie für Feste und besondere Sabbate kommentiert werden: Pesiqta de Rav Kahana (6. Jh.) und Pesiqta Rabbati (8.-9. Jh.?). Unsere case study ist dabei die Auslegung des Buches Rut. Erfahren wir anhand des homiletischen Midrasch, was Juden in der spätantiken Synagoge in Verbindung mit der Rut-Erzählung zu hören bekamen?
In den Seminargesprächen erarbeiten wir ausgewählte Textstellen der Primärliteratur sowie Texte der Sekundärliteratur; in kurzen schriftlichen Hausübungen setzen sich Studierende mit Fragen zu den Quellen und/oder Forschungsliteratur auseinander.

Assessment and permitted materials

Anwesenheit und Mitarbeit: Laufende Mitarbeit in der Stunde (max. 10 Punkte); maximal 3 Abwesenheiten.Schriftliche und mündliche Arbeitsaufträgen zu Quellen und Forschungsliteratur (max. 90 Punkte). Hilfsmittel: Wörterbücher, Digital Humanities Tools, die eingeführt werden

Beurteilungsmaßstab:70-100 Punkte = 160-69 Punkte = 250-59 Punkte = 340-49 Punkte = 40-39 Punkte = 5Die Gesamtnote ergibt sich aus der Summe der Punkte.
