Aims, contents and method of the course

In der LV werden ausgewählte Stellen kabbalistischer Texte aus verschiedenen Epochen im Original gelesen, darunter anonyme und pseudepigraphische Texte, wie das Buch Bahir, das Hauptwerk der spanischen Kabbalah - der Zohar, sowie Werke Abraham Abulafias und der Kabbalisten aus Safed (lurianische Kabbalah).

Assessment and permitted materials

Anwesenheitspflicht, regelmäßige Vorbereitung und Mitarbeit, Kurzreferat und Hausarbeit ("paper") erforderlich.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Kennenlernen der Formen und Strukturen kabbalistischer Texte; die Studierenden sollen vertraut werden mit den Grundbegriffen der Kabbalah und den wichtigsten Ideen und Vorstellungen der Kabbalisten; sie sollen die historischen Zusammenhänge und Interdependenzen der Texte verstehen.

Examination topics

Close reading der Texte im hebr. (und/oder aram.) Original, übersetzen dergleichen und Diskussion über die Inhalte.
