Aims, contents and method of the course

The introduction lecture provides students with a basic knowledge of medieval archaeology. By means of numerous examples the development of the discipline will be outlined, which methods are essential, and which topics are at the heart of the discipline. Core topics such as castle research, settlement reseach and burials are discussed in more detail.
