Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The town in ancient Egypt based on archaeological sources. Urban concept of towns including topography, and various districts of a town, as well as single elements of a town (houses, temples, construction, circulation) will be investigated and interpreted by using plans and archaeological finds.
Assessment and permitted materials
Oral presentation and written paper, active participation.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To achieve basic knowledge about towns and urban concepts of Ancient Egypt, the functional districts of a town, including housing areas, as well as to recognize the historical development of towns.
To compile and to present a scientific paper, based on independent research.
