Aims, contents and method of the course

Selected chapters of this Midrash are read in the original, translated and commented upon.

For the first unit (March 5) please prepare chapter 1 (edition Friedmann; one can also use the nearly identical version on the Internet Database Ma'agarim).

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular active participation including the preparation of the texts.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course shall analyse the literary characteristics, the basic religious ideas and the historical context of this late Midrash.

Examination topics

Common reading, translation and discussion of the selected texts.
