Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Preparation of scientific research practices in Egyptology. Topics are: recognizing source materials, the diversity of source materials, how to find source materials, how to work with source materials? how to produce a bibliography? how to present a scientific topic? How to organize a written paper in Egyptology? Depending on the development of the pandemic, the class will take place in online, hybrid or face-to-face mode.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment is based on the regular and active preparation for and participation in the class (30%), as well as on the written assignments (gesamt 70%). Attendance is obligatory

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

A minimum of 50% is required for a positive evaluation.
Students may be absent once.
Grading scale: 88 - 100 % = 1; 75 - 87,99 % = 2; 62,51 - 74,99 % = 3; 50 - 62,5 % = 4; 0 - 49,99 % = 5.

Examination topics

The class works with a "learning by doing" principle. Texts are studied in class, the contents are discussed and evaluated. The written assignments assist in reaching the class goals.
