Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The main part of the lecture will deal with the early neolithic in Central Europe and therefore with the Linear Pottery culture. The state of research for this culture is quite high and allows drawing a rather comprehensive picture for this time of the neolithization which is based on several new results of investigations. The most important innovations of this time did not develop in Central Europe but in the Near East. That is why I shall start the lectures with an overview of the emergence of these innovations in their regions of origin and their spread to Central Europe.
