Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Access to sources of knowledge for the Egyptian religion. Reading of relevant texts (Pyramid Texts, Coffin Texts, Book of the Dead; "memphite Theology," etc.). Translations are prepared by students.

Assessment and permitted materials

Active participation and coopeation. A concise dictionary may be used.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Knowledge of Middle Egyptian is precondition for participation.

Examination topics

Characterisation of the text corpora from which the translated texts are taken.
