Aims, contents and method of the course

In-depth understanding of underwater archaeological prospection and documentation methods. Emphasis on the benefits and potential of modern techniques for underwater archaeology, including theoretical background on geophysical and image-based documentation, measurement techniques, data processing, data visualisation, and interpretation, as well as a theoretical introduction to practical applications. The course content is delivered through practice-oriented lectures, featuring current examples and student engagement through questions and discussions.
Practically oriented lectures with clear and visually engaging presentations.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam. Dates and conditions will be announced. Active participation in the lecture.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab (evtl. Prozentangaben) (EN):
Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of underwater archaeological prospection and documentation methods. At least half of the maximum number of possible points must be achieved.
